2 Peter 3:5 – It Escapes Their Notice

Modern American religious thinking has been affected by Eastern religious thinking. An example is that two things that contradict each other can both be true. Notice how this is found in modern religious arguments.

If you try to tell liberated thinkers they are wrong, they will argue, “That’s just your opinion because all interpretation is just opinion”.

But then they will start arguing for a progressive position that they now accept and state that if you don’t agree with them that you are wrong, maybe even throwing around derogatory adjectives.
Ironically they will claim you are being affected by your culture, and it escapes their notice they might be affected by their culture (2 Peter 3:5).

Do you see how these are contradictory positions? Both can’t be true. So the next time a progressive liberated thinker tries to tell you they are now right, ask them if they believe all interpretation is just opinion or are there absolute truths to be discovered? Both can’t be true.

If they say yes, then they can’t say you are wrong and they are right. If they say no, then they can’t say we only believe what we do because of our background.

Sadly, they won’t see themselves as guilty of this because the problem is always those who disagree with them…even though they argue it’s all just opinion.
