Genesis 30:2 – Fruit of the Womb

| August 2, 2019

When an apple tree bears apples that are not yet ripe for picking, are they still apples? There is a biblical term for children called “fruit of the womb” sometimes translated as “children” (Genesis 30:2). If unripe apples are still apples, why wouldn’t “unripe” fruit of the womb still be children?

“Exposing” Children

| February 26, 2019

Historically “exposing” children was a barbaric and callous practice of disposing of unwanted children. The practice was simple – expose a child to the dangers of nature’s cruelty. It was a passive act in that the parents did not actively take the life of the child, but active in the sense of putting the child […]

Exodus 21:22-25 – Is Abortion Supported by the Bible?

| October 9, 2012

There is absolutely no linguistic authorization for translating v.22 to refer to a miscarriage. Remember, there is a difference between an interpretation and a translation. The noun in the NASB referring to the miscarriage and in the KJV translated as fruit is yeled. Both used/use science to rationalize positions: for slavery blacks were an inferior race mentally; for abortion a […]

| January 21, 2012

The words no mother wants to hear are stammered and whispered by the doctor. The word “mother” is synonymous with selflessness. Most women would immediately and easily choose to give their life to spare their child if the doctor said, “I can only save one.” Many mothers sacrifice not their lives, but a relationship with […]

Luke 1:44 – Today’s Uncivil War

| April 13, 2011

Yesterday marked the 150th anniversary of the Civil War which began over State Rights where “the State” was wrong. That’s why I cannot celebrate today “The Southern Cause,” although constitutionally I believe they had the right to secede. Problem is, they abused that right to deny the rights of others. Therefore they used the rights […]

2 Kings 15:16 – Killing Innocent Children

| December 4, 2009

Is there anything more tragic in a war than the suffering of children?  Is there anything more darkening to a man’s understanding than the killing of innocents?  War should never be glorified although war happened many times even within the Bible.  Some wars admittedly were waged by God.  Some by godlessness.  A rebellion broke out […]
