Acts 7:57 – Can The Bible Become Cuss Words?

I watch a lot of motorcycle videos. There is a lot of cussing said by “bikers” which hurts my ears, so I turn those off. There is one reviewer who begins each video with a Bible verse. When reading the comments, almost every video someone says they came for the bikes, not the Bible. The ear is for discerning as is the tongue (Job 12:11; 34:3). What hurts our ears depends on our “ear-buds”.
When a slave to a Hebrew wanted to stay with his master because of a loving relationship, the sign of that agreement was the piercing of the ear (Ex.21:6). Whether or not this is the reason for that action, the ear is significant in the Bible for an obvious reason – it signifies hearing. That slave was willing to submit to his master.
For us who claim to love God and His revealed word, the Bible, can hearing it hurt? It did certain Jews after Stephen’s sermon; they literally covered their ears (Acts 7:57). These religious folks didn’t negatively respond to Stephen’s sermon until it got personal. Can the word of God become like cuss words to our hearts and ears?
