2 38’s

There’s a “preacher story” of a burglar who was apprehended by the police because the old woman of the house started yelling at him, “Ax, two 38’s”; only to find out the old lady didn’t have any weapons but was yelling “Acts 2:38”. Well, in Acts, there are 2 38’s about baptism:
• Acts 8:38 – Then he ordered the chariot to stop, and both Philip and the eunuch went down into [eis] the water, and he baptized him.
• Acts 2:38 – “Repent and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for [eis] the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
When did the Ethiopian meet and come into contact with the water? When he went “into/eis the water”. When did the Jews on Pentecost meet and come into contact with the forgiveness of sins? When they were baptized “for/eis the forgiveness of sins.” Have you come into the water of baptism to come into the forgiveness of sins?
