Biblical truth standing on its spiritual head to get our eternal attention.

Worshipping is Being Human

Worship is the conflation of the spiritual and the physical. We “live worship” on earth, yet in God’s presence in heaven, simultaneously in the “heavenlies” (Ephesians).
Worshiping is our “natural” habitat, since the definition of being human is the conflation of the physical and the spiritual. There is nothing more human than worship. In a world where people want to know what the meaning of life is, this is it. Using our bodies and spirits as one (Rom.12:1), as image bearers of God’s mercies in the flesh (Genesis 1:26).
No wonder new birth is immersion of the body in water and in the Spirit (John 3:5). The two worlds collide. Worshiping is being human.
No wonder every human culture has recognized the divine as real. Worshiping is being human.
No wonder Jesus was God in the flesh. Jesus is the very conflation of the spiritual and the physical. His life demonstrates worshiping is being human.
No wonder I feel the most complete and connected when loving God with all my heart and my neighbor as myself. Worshiping is being human.
