Prior Priority

I like words, and priorities begins with “prior” meaning “before”. That helps us understand that our priorities are determined prior to many decisions we have to make. Ironically, the decision we make before we make a decision is our prior priority.

Eve and Adam made a decision not to eat of the forbidden fruit before the serpent came, but didn’t stick with it (Genesis 3).

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, made a decision not to bow down to Nebuchadnezzar’s idol and stuck to it (Daniel 3).

The difference is did their “prior priority” change or stay the same? Make God the prior priority and keep God the prior priority, and let that prior decision form all the decisions that follow to keep your priorities in order.
