Your Church is Named What?
Seen with my own eyes:
1) Corinth Church (I don’t care if your city is Corinth, call yourself any thing else including “Not-That-Corinth Corinth Church”);
2) Ai Church (The sign said, “Named for a royal city in Canaan. It didn’t say, “Named for a pagan city in Canaan that arrogantly fell for a military trap and got whooped”).
3) Second Baptist Church (Should they have under that, “Just like Avis, We Try Harder!”, or “The Church for All The Kids Not Firstborn”)
4) While all that hopefully tickled your funny bone, what does your church sign say, or even better what should it say if people were being honest?
Maybe this, “Christians Meet Here, Plus A Few Soreheads”?
Or, “Church of An Americanized and Politicized Christ”?
Maybe sadly, “Go Away, We Are Too Busy Ignoring Our Problems To Deal With Yours”?
And finally, “Church of Stay off Our Lawn!”?
And if it says, “church of Christ” would He recognize it as His?
