How Would You Respond?
Such a beautiful day, so I decided to test two golf clubs I received for Christmas. Working on my game and out of my office, does not mean I am not working. Being a Christian is 24/7. Let’s play a game called, “How Would You Respond?”
I noticed his Vietnam hat and thanked him for his service. Niceties were exchanged. Then my opening came when William started to leave the range saying, “Have a blessed day”.
How Would You Respond?
I told him how much I appreciated him saying that. Worked in I was a preacher. He asked where and I gave my typical answer – “Millersville church of Christ. But any other name in the Bible we go by that one too!”
“Church of Christ? My wife grew up Church of Christ. Do you believe you are the only ones going to heaven?”
How Would You Respond?
There’s a lot to unpack in that question. I told him, “Anyone who goes to heaven gets there by the grace of God.” He nodded in agreement.
“I attended the Church of Christ with my wife. I hated hearing myself sing because you don’t have instruments.”
How Would You Respond?
“One lady in a church I worshipped with didn’t think instruments were wrong, but she said ‘One benefit of not having them is I can hear people’s hearts”. Again, he nodded in agreement.
As he left he said, “I think I’ll visit you”.
How should we respond? Pray for William.
