Proverbs 22:6 – Questions for Parents

Parents: 1) If your children don’t see you busy in the kingdom; how strong and active will your children be in the Lord? 2) If your children don’t see you spending time with Christians in your home, their homes, and elsewhere; how strong will the relationships be that your children have with other believers? 3) If your children don’t see you spending time talking to God, and God talking to you through reading and studying the Bible; how strong will your children’s desire be to grow in grace and knowledge? 4) If your children ask questions about why you do certain things, and you can’t explain and show the answer; how strong will your children’s knowledge be? 5) If your children don’t see you helping the needy in the name of the Lord; how strong will their compassion be to the downtrodden?
In my experience, a person has a better “chance” to be a strong Christian if their parents were not Christians at all; than the child who grew up in a home of lukewarm Chistians.
Proverbs 22:6: “Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
