Biblical truth standing on its spiritual head to get our eternal attention.

Genesis 16 – The First Appearance of the Angel of the Lord

In Luke 4 Jesus mentions how miracles were done for a widow in Sidon and a general in Syria – both Gentiles – and not for Jews. This infuriates His Jews contemporaries. No doubt Jesus’ use showed these incidents had purpose. Such an incident having surprising meaning made we wonder if another seemingly inconsequential incident also might have meaning. The first occurrence of the Angel of the Lord was not to a patriarch, nor to a Hebrew; but to a poor, pregnant, Egyptian slave (Gen.16). So don’t overlook what appears small, whether in the Bible or your life. God can use what seems meaningless and make it important.
