Genesis 1 – In the Beginning Jesus

Who God is, and how God reveals who and what He is, starts in Genesis 1:
[ ] God is self-existent because He creates everything that exists.
[ ] God is singular, yet plural which explains why a plural word, elohim, is used with singular verbs.
[ ] God is Spirit and hovers over His creation.
[ ] God is powerful who creates through His spoken word.
These four revelations are found in Jesus:
[ ] Jesus is self-existent. CSB’17 Col 1:16: “For everything was created by him, in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities — all things have been created through him and for him.”
[ ] Jesus is a singular part of that singular plurality – CSB’17 John 1:1: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
[ ] Jesus is a divine power over water. CSB’17 Mat 14:25: “Jesus came toward them walking on the sea very early in the morning.”
[ ] Jesus speaks and miracles happen – CSB’17 Mar 2:9-11: “Which is easier: to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, take your mat, and walk’? But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins” — he told the paralytic — “I tell you: get up, take your mat, and go home.””
Who Jesus is, and how Jesus reveals who and what He is, also starts in Genesis 1.
