2 Corinthians 4:6 – Chaos Into Order

God said, “Light shall shine out of darkness” (2 Corinthians 4:6).  That sounds like Paul is referencing creation when God said, “Let there be light” (Genesis 1:2).  Yet the message to the Corinthians was not a lesson in apologetics or history; but rather, spiritual order:

For God, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ (2 Corinthians 4:6 NASB).

The God who created all things, is the God who recreates all His children. Knowing that power, His power, what can God do in our lives?

Go back to Genesis 1 and notice how in the beginning there was chaos. How did God end the chaos? By putting things into proper order. By finishing what He started. If we want God to end the chaos in our life, we have to allow Him to put things in proper order. We have to allow God to finish remaking us. Only then does growth come. God brings chaos out of order.

Genesis 1 is not only about the creation of the world, it is foretelling through masterful teaching about a new creation. It is about the new creation of me (2 Corinthians 5:17).

2 Corinthians 5:17 HCSB  (17)  Therefore if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation; old things have passed away, and look, new things have come.
