Ephesians 4:1-3 – A Reminder

Which fits us personally, our congregations, and experiences?
[ ] “Therefore I, the prisoner in the Lord, urge you to live worthy of the calling you have received, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” (Ephesians 4:1-3: CSB)
[ ] “Therefore I, the prisoner in the Lord, urge you to live unworthy of the calling you have received, with all arrogance and harshness, with impatience, beating up one another in hurt feelings, making every effort to keep the disunity of the flesh through the bond of conflict.” (Not Quite Ephesians 4:1-3)
The first is inspired by the Holy Spirit. The second is “inspired” by insecurities, dislikes, possessiveness, and many other works of the flesh. Sadly, many of us have witnessed the latter version, maybe more than the former. In an effort to be honest, we must remember that God would have such things be written because we all need to be reminded.
