Two Beginnings
There is the command to be fruitful and multiply. Then there is the reality they were fruitful and multiplied.
There is a new ruler who acts cunningly. And there is a new ruler who acts shrewdly.
The end resort was their labor became cursed. And their end result was their labor became bitter and oppressed.
There is a segment on a woman giving birth. And again, there is a segment on women giving birth.
One could look at the first narrative as a battle of gods, or at least a battle to become a god. In the second narrative there is a battle between the true God just beginning, and a false god.
Read again Genesis 1-3 and Exodus 1. Moses wrote both. And Exodus has some echoes from Genesis. Both are beginnings and both are endings too. And both have similar beginnings.
P.S. If you think the above is seeing things not there, the similarities continue.
There is a salvation in a basket involving water. And there is a salvation involving water in an ark which is the same word in Hebrew as basket. That is Noah and Moses.
There is a group of people building something needing bricks. And then again a group of people building things out of bricks. That is the Tower of Babel and the enslaved Israelites building for Pharaoh.
