Biblical truth standing on its spiritual head to get our eternal attention.

Jeremiah 14:8 – NASB vs. HCSB vs. ESV

NASB “O Hope of Israel, Its Savior in time of distress, Why are You like a stranger in the land Or like a traveler who has pitched his tent for the night?

HCSB Hope of Israel, its Savior in time of distress, why are You like a foreigner in the land, like a traveler stopping only for the night?

ESV O you hope of Israel, its savior in time of trouble, why should you be like a stranger in the land, like a traveler who turns aside to tarry for a night?

“Tent” is not in the text. And although it might be understood as to the method a traveler in that time would use, the NASB is not as literal as the other two translations.
