Matthew 25:31-46 – Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is not a time of merriment for all. Some are separated from loved-ones, whether from military service or serving time for regretted mistakes. Others have lost loved-ones, and memories today will be bittersweet. Some have lost loved-ones in a different way, and no longer feel welcomed or aren’t welcomed. Children in foster care will be spending yet another festivity without a forever family. And there are even those who suffer from ailments, whether physically, emotionally, or mentally who have to force themselves out of their comfort to join the merriment. If you see someone homeless, take them a meal. Thanksgiving is for some a melancholy day. Reaching out to others makes us give even more thanks and may help them have a better Thanksgiving.
