John 9 – Blinded to Baptism?

In John 9 Jesus anoints a blind man’s eyes with mud, then tells him to go to the pool of Siloam to wash. Which of the following is true:
1. The man was healed immediately without washing because he believed.
2. The disciples argued that if the man went and washed that would be a work.
3. The man went, washed, and was healed of his blindness.
Only the last choice is true; however when it comes to our washing in baptism (Acts 22:16) people argue “faith only” and that eadhing is a work.
Back to our 3 choices:
1) The first would be faith only and without obedience, but that choice was false.
2) The second would be faith only and without obedience, but that too was wrong.
3) The third is faith in action through obedience which is why the man did not see until he completed his obedience in what was commanded.
The same is true for us. We are only healed spiritually by faith when we complete what God has commanded. This is seen in Acts 22:16: “And now why do you delay? Arise, and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name.”
When did Paul have his sins washed away? Was it on the road to Damascus on when he was commanded to be baptized?
Have you completed what God has commanded in order to have your sins washed away? Can you see the truth about when we are healed by faith? Or has false teaching blinded you?
